MINT HILL, N.C. ( QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A retired firefighter was helping his son when he was struck and killed by a vehicle on Interstate 485 Wednesday evening, NC State Highway Patrol said. The deadly accident shut down all inner lanes in the Mint Hill area. The Charlotte Fire Department confirmed the man was retired Capt.
