Feb 26, 2015 · 38 Answers. VDC = vehicle dynamic control. VDC off - allows car to spin. This automatically comes on every time ignition is turned off. It should not show "on" on dashboard when ignition is turned on - there should be no light for VDC on when ignition turned on. In other words for some reason VDC is "off" instead of "on" when turning on ignition.Maybe check the intercooler hose clamps and tighten them down snug with a screwdriver. Limp mode is almost always the CVT though. Sometimes can happen with a bad tank of gas or water on the MAF sensor but much less common. When you describe the 1 hour drive and it starts acting up, this is classic CVT issue.So I got the famous bad knock sensor wiring harness code so I replaced the harness and started my car the code went away but my car is still in limp mode. The car idles and runs fine and even revs up all the way in park but when driving the car only has about 25% throttle. I have tried resetting my ECU and getting the ECU flashed but nothing works.
