This evaluation of the Mental Health First Aid for the Suicidal Person

As part of a broader mental health program implemented in five schools in a southeastern county in the USA, YMHFA was provided to school personnel over a 2-year period. The current study was a pretest/post test evaluation of this program. Generally, the evaluation's findings provide preliminary evidence of the effectiveness of the YMHFA training.The aim of this study was to investigate changes in knowledge in mental illness, confidence in helping a person, readiness to give help and attitudes towards persons with mental illness.
