You're not missing anything, Morgott's just isn't very good, while Bloodhound's Fang is one of the better weapons in the game. Its skill is real cool though, and it's not so bad as to be unusable, just worse than most other curved greatswords. If this thing was around 330 and had an S scaling in dex, i guarentee it would be an amazing dex weapon, possibly one of the best.
