Hello, New to the forum and would love some help with my situation: Yesterday my 2003 5.9l 280,000kms (pump never replaced) Ram died on the side of the road, it felt like it had been starving for fuel for the last month or so (sluggish off the line). When scanned, it threw the code PO628.I have 3 codes for my Dodge 2004 2500 with the 5.9 Cummins 305HP. Codes are as follows ; P2503, P0628 and P0514. Pump won’t activate with key and throwing a code p0628. …A relay plugged into the original lift pump ECU connector will prevent the P0628 DTC. If nothing is plugged into that ECU connector you will get a P0628 CEL and DTC. It's safer to have the ECU control the lift pump rather than key on power. The ECU will turn off the lift pump if the engine stops running or the air bags deploy, unlike key on power.
