From what I can tell, the CD 601 DPS is in-between the Generation 1 and 2 designs from Sulun, though much closer to the Gen 2. The Gen 2 is 100% M4 clone down to the recoil tube and stock. The Gen 1 is an almost clone, different recoil tube, mostly parts compatible, but the bolt release is positioned too far back on the receiver.FWIW, I installed the Dave's Metal Works extended tube (one piece) on my SDS AKSA S4 and it fit perfectly.
