You can't get it to work in any gear other than 1st when you start from a stop and 4th. That's what limp mode is. The truck is protecting what's left of the transmission. 68RFE intermittent 1st and 4th with no DTC Codes. I have a 2008 Ram 2500 6.7L EFI Live on 35's with 72K miles it. The problem I am experiencing is that once this tranny issue is triggered as I am driving, I only have 1st and 4th gears. This issue goes away if I turn the truck off and restart it.The part cost $65. 1hr labor to install, $120. They are easy to repalce, but the mech there cautioned me that it has an adjustable mount and has to be adjusted correctly to operate properly.
