Im definitely not an expert or competitive. I've probably shot 1000 yards or further about 15 times in my life. However, at 1000 i can hit a 20" plate with a 20" barrel 308 and the 168 a max probably 90% of the time, not including the first round. I HAVE made a first round hit at 1000 with that gun and ammo in a PRS comp though.Absolutely no question you can use it to get bullets out to 1000 yd. Just be aware that a 16.5" barrel .308 gas gun is far from ideal for precision shooting at that distance. You may also be somewhat restricted in terms of heavy (long) bullets because of mag length.
