You are right, you find plate and a cloak, and then you can misty step across the cavern to get into the lower bits of the house, I did not venture forth yet as only one party member for me could get across at that time and if you go into the door it appears there will be enemies.The real reason for broken path finding is a poison trap bugs. Despite all traps being disarmed in this hallway poison clouds still exist near left side wall and door blocking movement for AI unless they can jump over poison cloud. #10.
